The C1 is the most extravagant of La Casa Tropical’s chocolates, developed from criollo cocoa originating in the Chontal region of Tabasco, Mexico. This grain is considered among the 12 best in the world and 3 best of the Caribbean by the International Cocoa Awards, 2012 and 2011, and is celebrated in the Salon du Chocolat in Paris. Its touch of acidity is quickly followed by hints of fermented fruits, wild flowers, soft butter, and freshly cut wood. If light were a flavor this chocolate would encompass Mexican summers draped in amber and orange.
